MEMBERSHIP

Morehouse Parish Emergency Response Team is comprised of an elected Captain, Co-Captain, Secretary/Treasurer, and Board.

Our members are Black, White, Male, Female. They are on the team to help members of the community who are in trouble.

The team members are not paid for the time they invest in working for their community. The team supplies the equipment and training for the members.

Our team members have been trained in Tornado spotting and severe weather knowledge by the National Weather Service Office in Shreveport, and Jackson Mississippi, which we are now under.

Union Pacific Railroad has given Haz-Mat training.
We have had CPR and First Aid Training given by local instructors.

We have practice situations to help train our new members with safe and proper techniques.

We get together after a call out to examine what areas need improvement. Our members also have to learn how to repair and maintain our equipment.

They do this with no financial gain. They get up all hours of the night in all weather conditions to help out someone in the community who is in trouble or missing.

We have our meetings the First and Third Thursday of the month at 7:00 P.M. at our building located next to the Bastrop/Morehouse Memorial Airport.
