FUNDING
The Morehouse Parish Emergency Response Team is an incorporated tax exempt 501C(3)  volunteer nonprofit organization

Our team operates on funds from private donations, fund raisers, and the United Way. This money is used for the units vehicle maintenance, equipment maintenance, fuel for our equipment, electric bills and water bills for our building. Also the insurance for both our building and the property it is located on, takes a large portion of our yearly funding.

We have recieved equipment through CERT Funding , private donations and Homeland Security grants. The new equipment is badly needed and expands our capabilities, but will require more money for maintenance.

We do not charge for our service to the community. This is an all volunteer team with members paying for their own gas, clothing, and other personal equipment.

The community has responded well to our fund raisers.

Our local Wal Mart has been a help with some of these, allowing us to hold fundraiser's on their property, and contributed to one of our fundraiser's with matching funds, and one grant.

Texas Gas Company has also been generous with donated equipment such as Laptop Computers and a Six-Wheel ATV with trailer.

Citizens in the parish have also donated food and drinks while we were on Searches and Drowning's.
